Welcome to bakerite
Secret Choir is now using bakerite, a new CMS that is still using Eleventy to build static content and progressively enhances with a client-side editor for posting, but instead of its previous form where it leeches off of GitHub's free static hosting service, it runs on a minimal VPS that runs Caddy for the purpose of serving static files and then also proxies to a minimal node.js-based backend to receive data from the editor, writes the relevant information as files on disk, and then triggers Eleventy builds as appropriate. It's... a whole thing.
The important parts to YOU are that you'll start seeing "reblogged" content, there is rich embedded content available for more websites, and you can now hit the "like" button on posts to show some appreciation. There are some other features that I hope to get to soon as well.
My hope is that the Atom + JSON feeds handle this migration gracefully, but as with any website migration... you know how it goes. we'll see!
Anyway. I'm going to work on migrating some other sites to bakerite soon, and if you want to talk about trying it out yourself, I think we might be like one step closer to me being able to offer it to others?
